Top Ten Tuesday-Books I Meant to Get to in 2018

Wow, has it really been over 2 months since I did a Top Ten Tuesday?? I guess it's time for another one! 😂 Today we are talking about books we didn't get to last year, and of course, there's always a list! So here's some books I didn't get to that I'm most excited about!
Between the Lines (Between the Lines, #1)The Always War

These first two I planned to read last month and just ran out of time, so I'm currently reading them and OMG so far Between the Lines is so cute! I LOVE the unique concept of book characters just "acting" out the plot as you read, and having separate lives "off script" when the book is closed. It totally changes the way I think about reading! And The Always War is by an author I loved when I was in middle school, and this is one of the few of her books I was interested in but just haven't gotten to yet. I'm not sure what to think of it so far, but it's interesting. I think I've pretty much grown out of her books. Except for Uprising. That will forever be one of my favorites!

Afterworlds

I got this book for Christmas...4 years ago. 😑 And I was really excited about it! I still am! The concept of a story-within-a-story sounds so interesting, and I've heard this is a good author, but I've never been interesting in the Uglies series, so this was my go to instead. I NEED to read it already!

The Day the World Came to Town: 9/11 in Gander, Newfoundland

This is a nonfiction, but it actually sounds really interesting and heartwarming! It's a true story about this little town in Canada that took in passengers of a grounded airplane that got stuck there after the events of 9/11, and I just found out there's a Broadway musical called Come from Away on the same people and topic?? Excuse me while I go listen to the entire soundtrack immediately! 😄

The Looking Glass Wars

I feel like I've wanted to read this for so long and I finally have a copy of it! It's an Alice in Wonderland retelling and the premise sounds so cool and unique to me and I'm hoping it'll be kind of a hidden gem!

The Unwanteds (Unwanteds, #1)

When I worked at my school library a few years ago, this series was hugely popular among the middle-schoolers, and the cover says it's like a mix of Harry Potter and The Hunger Games. Though I'm not into Harry Potter, the idea of a magical Hunger Games sounds awesome. And the blurb sounds so interesting! I'm really excited I finally bought a copy of this first book, so I hope I'll like it! 😃

Frostblood (Frostblood Saga, #1)

I feel like this has been on my TBR forever! It sounds so cool (pun intended 😂) and I know I'm totally going to need this to get over the emotional wreck that I am after finishing Frost Like Night. 😭

Kingdom Keepers IV: Power Play: Power Play

I seriously need to hurry up and finish this series before I grow too much out of it. 😂 But I just didn't get to it in time!

The Heir (The Selection, #4)

Yes I haven't gotten to this yet. Yes I am ashamed. Yes I'm probably going to end up hating it like everyone else does now. Yes I'm still going to read it anyway because
1: I have a copy my friend gave me as a gift for my birthday like 3 years ago,
2: the covers are just soooo pretty in this series and I just can't leave books with gorgeous covers like that unread,
and 3: my OCD won't let me quit a series when I only have 2 books left. 😩 Plus I actually am interested in Happily Ever After, the short story collection, and I want to finish the whole series before I get to that.

Cinderella's Dress (Cinderella's Dress, #1)

This one has been on my TBR for a long time too. (Though, haven't all of them? 😂) It's a WWll retelling of Cinderella, and I normally wouldn't imagine historical fiction for a fairy tale retelling, especially during WWll, so I'm intrigued. ....buuuut I ended up reading other books instead of this one. But this year definitely!

So that's my list of books I didn't get to last year that I need to read in 2019! Oh and there's definitely more where that came from. I have a ton of hyped books I'm making a priority this year to read! (that were probably all published like 4 years ago oops. 😳) Hmm, maybe that's a topic for another blog post?

What are books you need to make a priority this year? Do we share any of the same ones? Comment below! ♡

See you Saturday! I have a fun tag planned to celebrate my blog's 2nd birthday! 😱

  2. I hate to admit that I've never heard of most of these ... though I loved Margaret Peterson Haddix in middle school, and I may have read The Looking Glass Wars? It looks and sounds really familiar. But I hope these all meet or exceed your hopes, and happy (almost) blogiversary!

    1. Thanks! And don't worry, I didn't expect most of these to be well known on the blogisphere. XD

  3. I haven't read The Heir either because everyone has says such horrifying things about it I just think I'd rather stay with the original story.
Hope you enjoy all of these reads once you finally get to them!

  5. I really liked Between the Lines, when they stop reading and the characters just have a conversation like they are actors on a stage!
