All the Hyped Books I'm Making a Priority in 2019

So this was supposed to be a review of The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer for my book club, but I ended up DNFing it after only around 20% so...I couldn't come up with anything to say about it other than "I didn't like the romance, and it just wasn't for me." Which is literally only one sentence...so here we are. 😂 Instead I just decided to go with my idea I mentioned last time of just listing all the hyped books I'm FINALLY making a priority this year, which sounds like a lot more fun to write (and hopefully read) anyway!

HeartlessThrone of Glass (Throne of Glass, #1)Because You Love to Hate Me: 13 Tales of Villainy
Sky in the DeepFrostblood (Frostblood Saga, #1)Three Dark Crowns (Three Dark Crowns, #1)
The Unwanteds (Unwanteds, #1)Rebel Belle (Rebel Belle, #1)Illuminae (The Illuminae Files, #1)
Heart of Iron (Heart of Iron, #1)Girl in the Blue CoatOrphan Monster Spy
 The NightingaleStarfishEliza and Her Monsters
 Love & GelatoSave the Date

So I'm not including sequels of books I've already read, just ones that are completely new to me that I haven't started. But these are all ones that I have copies of, so these I will most likely actually get to this year. (Fingers crossed. 😂) I think the ones I'm most excited about are Sky in the Deep (cuz Amy and I decided to buddy read it in May,) Frostblood, The Unwanteds, Illuminae, Heart of Iron, Orphan Monster Spy, The Nightingale, Eliza and Her Monsters, Love and Gelato, and Save the Date. 😊

The Lions of Little RockWhen Dimple Met RishiTell Me Three Things
The Reader (Sea of Ink and Gold, #1)An Ember in the Ashes (An Ember in the Ashes, #1)My Lady Jane (The Lady Janies, #1)
Carve the Mark (Carve the Mark, #1)FangirlZenith (The Androma Saga #1)
Red Rising (Red Rising, #1)The Forbidden OrchidThe Girl from Everywhere (The Girl from Everywhere, #1)

These are books I know my local library has on Libby so I can get them for free! 😄 (Though some of them have really long wait lists. 😬) I chose these to listen on audiobook because I'm not totally convinced I'll like them, so I want to get through them quickly, and I can listen to them when I'm working. (Also I didn't include them because I have physical copies of them, but I want to listen to audiobooks of Illuminae and Heart of Iron as I read them. 😊)
Ones I'm kinda excited about either out of curiosity or I think I'll actually like is: When Dimple Met Rishi, An Ember in the Ashes, My Lady Jane, Zenith, and The Girl from Everywhere.

The Darkest Minds (The Darkest Minds, #1)A List of CagesTurtles All the Way DownNumber the Stars

These are also ones I'm not sure I'll like so I don't want to buy them, but I still really want to read them physically, so I'll get them at the library. I've been especially excited about A List of Cages recently, because I pointed out that the cover for Cait @ Paper Fury's new book, The Boy Who Steals Houses, reminds me a little of it, and she said it's actually a good comparative book for hers, and it's one of her favorites. So I really want to hurry up and read it before I read hers when it comes out in April! 😄

Okay these are books I really want to buy that I realistically probably won't ever end up getting anytime soon cuz I'm broke, and even if I buy a few of them later I might not get around to reading them this year because of all of those other ones I already have, but I'm including them anyway cuz ughIjustwanttoreadallofthesesobad. 😩

*Also, don't all these covers look so gorgeous together?! I mean, except for Adulthood is a Myth and The Crown's Game. They kinda throw it off. 😂

The Crown's Game (The Crown's Game, #1)Stalking Jack the Ripper (Stalking Jack the Ripper, #1)Adulthood Is a Myth (Sarah's Scribbles, #1)
Rebel of the Sands (Rebel of the Sands #1)The Boy Who Steals HousesThe Smell of Other People's Houses
Before She Ignites (Fallen Isles, #1)

So yeah, that's all the books I want to get to this year! I know I probably won't get to all of them, but I know I'll get through most of the audiobooks and the ones I already own. So here's hoping!

I can't wait to read these and FINALLY see what all the hype is about! I really really hope I'll love at least some of them them as much as everyone else does. I'm seriously fandom deprived. 😂 I feel like I haven't actually been in a big fandom since the Hunger Games hype ended with the last movie, and the few extremely hyped books I've read since then I haven't liked very much, and it just makes me feel so sad and lonely. 😔

Have you read any of these books? Are you mad at me for not reading them until now? 😂 Which ones do you think I should read first?

See you Saturday with my January Wrap Up and February Goals! (WOW this month flew by fast...as always. 😰)

Bye! ♡

  1. I'm pretty sure I have half of the books you listed on my TBR that I'll get around to eventually, lol.

I LOVED When Dimple Met Rishi - it was one of the cutest books I read in 2017. An Ember in the Ashes was painful for me in audiobook form unfortunately, but not enough for me to hate the book. Number the Stars was AMAZING according to my 10 and 12-year-old self.

Good luck getting through all of these, Heather! <3

    1. I'm afraid I won't get through An Ember in the Ashes if I read it physically, cuz it's so intimidating. XD That's the only reason I want to listen to it on audiobook.
I never read Number the Stars when I was little cuz I think I thought it would be too dark for me. I didn't like sad books at ALL back then. XD
      Thank you! :)

  2. I've read some of the books you mentioned, and they're all favourites . Throne of Glass, Illuminae,Rebel Of the Sands, When Dimple Met Rishi and a few more.

Most of the others are on my TBR, Stalking Jack the Ripper, The Darkest Minds being ones I can't believe I've not yet read.
I own Red Rising so maybe we could do a buddy read?

I was planning on listening to Red Rising on audiobook cuz I'm not totally sure it's one I'm actually interested in yet? :/

  4. woohoo I've heard of most of these and I feel like a real book blogger now 😜 I hadn't heard that A List of Cages was a comp title for Cait's books, but I've been meaning to read both anyway so that's just a nice plus! your lineup looks awesome, so I hope you have a terrific reading year 📚

  5. Well I just thought the covers looked similar to each other and so I commented on Cait's blog and said so and she replied and that's what she told me. ;)
I hope I do too!! Thank you!! <3

      Yeah I've heard it's really good! I'm excited. :)
Well I've only read John Green's short story in Let it Snow and nothing else, and this was the only book of his that I was actually interested in, so I wanted to try it.
I'm not sure I'll like Fangirl, but that's why I want to listen to an audiobook of it. :)

Yeah it looks pretty intimidating, so that's why I'll try it on audiobook cuz I'm not sure I'll like it.

  8. Fangirl is good! If you like it you should read Carry on also which is even better.

I have mixed feelings about Throne Of Glass. I like and am disappointed with it at the same time. Illuminae was only three star read for me but many people absolutely love it.
