NOT a Book Blogger (BookTuber) Newbie Tag

Hey Book Bloggians! Today I am doing the NOT a Book Blogger Newbie Tag, (aka the NOT a BookTube Newbie Tag) which was created by Shelby and I'm doing it to celebrate my blog's 2ND birthday on Monday, the 28th! 😱 I can't believe it's already 2 years old! It's growing up so fast. 😫

How old is your blog?

It will be two years old on January 28th!

What are your favorite posts to write?

I really like talking about all the books I read in themed tags and surveys, and memes like Top Ten Tuesday and events like Bookending Winter where you link up with other blogs. They're so fun to write and participate in! 😊

What is one piece of advice you would give to someone wanting to start their own book blog?

Well, I'm not the best at giving advice, but I would say just write whatever you want that you think is fun and helps you voice your opinions, try your best to stay consistent with your posting, (but if you need to take some time off just be sure to let your readers know beforehand,) read other people's blogs and comment on them to get to know them, and just experiment with new ideas for your own blog and learn as you go along! You will learn a lot overtime the more you get involved in the community, so don't sweat the small stuff and just do the best you can to make your blog better a little at a time. 😄

Since starting have you run into any unforeseen challenges?

I don't think I've run into any really unforeseen challenges, except maybe thinking that keeping up with social media and sticking to my posting schedule wasn't going to be as hard as it is. At least for me. 😂

What is a favorite book/series you’ve read because of blogging/BookTube?

Snow Like Ashes (Snow Like Ashes, #1)

Snow Like Ashes is definitely one of my favorite series that I've read because I've heard about it online. 😊 I'm pretty sure I first heard about it on BookTube, though. I hear about pretty much all the same hyped books through BookTube and blogging, so it's almost impossible to remember specifically where I first heard about a book.

Overall, what is your favorite aspect about blogging?

I love being able to talk about books and my love of reading (and sometimes writing and art, too!) and meeting other bloggers and getting to chat with them on their blogs and/or Discord. 😄 It's been a pretty cool and fun experience. I'm still shocked that I actually have real online friends now! 😂

Want to spread the book blogger love? (Yes? GREAT!) Give at least one newbie a shout out!

Uh....I'm pretty sure I'm still the youngest blog out of all the blogs I actually read, but I think Clo @ Book Dragons' is a few months younger than mine? So I think she counts? 😂

But you should totally go follow her she has cute little dragons all over her blog, she is way better at being involved in social media and with other bloggers than I am, all her posts are really fun to read, and she's just a really great blogger and a cool person! 😊

Who do you tag?

Anyone who wants to do this tag! 😂

So what did you think of this tag? Anybody else have blog birthdays in January??
Definitely do this tag if you feel like you aren't a blogger newbie anymore! 😊

I'll see you Tuesday for my next post! It was supposed to be a review of my January book club book, The Unbecoming of Mara Dyer, but I ended up DNFing it because the romance was just ruining it for me and it just wasn't my kinda book, and I couldn't think of enough opinions I had about it to fill a review since I didn't make it very far into it. 😞 So instead, I'll be listing all of the hyped books I've missed out on that I'm going to try to make a priority to read this year! I think that'll be a much more fun post to read anyway. 😉

See you then! ♡

  2. congratulations on (almost) two years!! 🎉 I absolutely agree, the bookish community is one of the best things about blogging - and Clo's little bookdragons are adorable! my blog's still pretty new, but I'll probably hoard this tag to do at some point in the slightly-distant future 😜

      Aren't they?! <3 :)
Congrats on your new blog! XD You totally should do this tag! But there's also one called The BookTube Newbie Tag that I adjusted for bloggers that you can do now! :D
      Here it is:

  3. Happy birthday to your blog! Memes and tags are always fun to read (and write). Love the advice you gave to new bloggers! I always think it's great to experiment and to not sweat the small stuff.

My blog's 2 (it'll turn 3 in April, I believe?) and it's always so weird to think that I've been doing it for what will be now 3 years.

    1. Thanks!! :D :D
I know, I can't believe I've been blogging for 2 years already. I can't imagine what my blog will be like when my blog is like 8 years old, like Cait @ Paper Fury. XD

  4. Congrats on your anniversary! My blog is not even a month old :') So no anniversaries for me yet, but I'll keep this in mind until that time ^^

    1. Heather @ The Frozen Book BlogJanuary 27, 2019 at 7:30 PM

    1. Heather @ The Frozen Book BlogJanuary 27, 2019 at 7:31 PM

      Oh thank you! <3 :)

  6. Congratulations on two years! Blogging can be hard work, so making it this far is definitely an accomplishment; you have earned the title of NOT a newbie!

I really like doing meme/list posts too, especially Top Ten Tuesday. It is a great way to keep your blog on a weekly schedule as well as increasing interaction in the blogging community!

      Awe thanks!! :D
      I know! They're so fun!

  7. Oooooo look at you grow, Heather! Snow Like Ashes is AMAZING and I think I heard about that series through blogging as well when I heard other bloggers talking about the series.

I love Top Ten Tuesdays, especially when I get to break the rules a little and come up with fun topics related to the topic. Plus like Tessa said, it's great to keep the blog going on a weekly basis and increase interaction at the same time.

    1. Oh I'm so glad you like it too! :D I just finished reading Frost Like Night and it BROKE my heart! D,:
Yeah, Top Ten Tuesdays are fun too. :)
