Bookending Winter #7: The Bookish Cenone

Hi book nerds! Today's prompt is provided by the amazing Camilla @ The Reader in the Attic, who hails from Italy! Her prompt is all about a bookish version of the Christmas Cenone, or Christmas Dinner. 😉 Basically what you do is pretend you are throwing a Christmas dinner party and invite characters from the last three books you read! This sounds like so much fun, so let's go!

*Okay, technically I'm already cheating cuz for the prompt we are supposed to put together a two-day celebration, but that sounds like too much work, so I'm just sticking with one. 😂 And technically these aren't the last three books I read; I didn't feel like inviting anyone from the Kiss of Deception, so I just went with the last three before that.

The Shadow Queen (Ravenspire, #1)Girl Online Going Solo (Girl Online, #3)Six of Crows (Six of Crows, #1)

Lorelei from The Shadow Queen
Penny from Girl Online
Nina from Six of Crows
I have no idea what fictional characters would want to bring me. The best I could guess is Nina would bring me a copy of Crooked Kingdom so I would have no excuse but to continue reading about her and her friends, Penny might bring me something blogging related since we both are bloggers, like something to plan posts with, or a cute mug that says "pro book blogger" or something. 😂 And I have no idea what Lorelei might bring. Since her book reminded me of OUAT and she's supposed to be Snow White, if she asked around about something I would want and she figured out what OUAT was in our world, maybe she'd get me something related to that. Like a Snow Funko Pop! 😍

Once Upon a Time - Snow White

This was a really hard to come up with. 😂

Well Nina would definitely bring all the cake and waffles of ever and Penny might bring something from a traditional English Christmas dinner since she's from the UK, and I feel like Lorelei wouldn't get the "bring a side dish memo" and not show up with any food. I don't think she would have any idea what to bring anyway, since social gatherings aren't her strong suit. She'd just be happy to keep her pet falcon Sasha from showing up with any dead mice to share. 😂

And I would probably cook the rest. (If I had help. 😜) But it would probably be a mix of traditional stuff like garlic mashed potatoes, vegetables of some sort, and pie, though probably chocolate instead of pumpkin or something, since that's really the only kind I like. And I'm not really a fan of turkey or ham, so if I was in charge of the menu I would substitute it for rotisserie chicken, though some might think that's not as special. But I think it's great, especially if it's seasoned really well! 😋 And then of course, more unhealthy things, like gourmet mac 'n cheese, just cuz I love mac 'n cheese, and lots of yummy desserts, like brownies and chocolate chip cookies, ice cream to go with the pie, and hot chocolate! 😍

Well that was my bookish Christmas Cenone! It was small and badly organized and didn't have much of the traditional food that everybody expects, but I feel like it wouldn't be a party thrown by me if it wasn't, cuz I don't really know how to throw parties. 😂

I'll see you back here for a new BW post on Thursday! Bye! 🎄
