Bookending Winter #1: Decorating My Room for Christmas!

Hey guys! Happy Bookending Winter! This is basically Clo and Sam's version of Blogmas, which is running from December 1-31.
I am starting my posts today, and posting every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday up until Christmas Eve, and then I will also have one on Christmas Day, and the Thursday after Christmas for a New Year's prompt by Amy!
So today for Bookending Winter #1, I am giving you a tour of my Christmas-decorated bedroom! 😄

So here by the door is my cute little tabletop turquoise Christmas tree which I put on top of my shorter bookshelf that holds most of my notebooks. My color scheme for my decorating  is mainly turquoise (my favorite!) and silver. 😊

Here's a close up of my tree from the other side where you can see my ornaments a little better. I used silver beads for the garland, and I got some small round ones that were specifically for table trees, and added regular sized ones that I really wanted to use that were just sitting on my bookshelf: the gold Eiffel tower that my mom gave me, a silver and blue glittery stag that reminded me of the cover of the collector's edition of The Snow Queen that I am reading, and of course, Elsa. 😉

And here is my bed with some wall decals that I wanted to put on the empty wall, (they were such a pain to put up though cuz they refused to stick to the wall because it's textured so I had to use scotch tape, which only just barely keeping them up there 😑) and my giant snowman my roommate gave me for my birthday last year, just casually reclining in the corner, because yes I am such a baby. 😂 (His name is Marshmallow in case you're wondering.)

And here is my closet that I hung blue and silver garland over with thumb tacks. I think it looks great. 😊

Here is a closeup on the closet where you can see turquoise snowflakes and silver icicle ornaments I hung from the top, and my movie collection. 😉 (And yes, that's the Frozen singalong version in there. I have no shame. 😂)

Here's my mirror on the wall next to the closet that I only took a pic of to show you the leftover snowflakes from the wall decal kit that I stuck on there because I was getting fed up with them not sticking to the wall. So this was the only smooth surface I could think of where it would still be seen. Plus my tree looks cool in the reflection. 😊

And voila! My bookshelf, the crown jewel of my room. 😂 It was SO fun doing this; it looks amazing! I draped another blue and silver garland on top, and then the bead garland I got for my tree ended up being WAY longer than I thought, so I cut off what I needed and used the rest for this! I just looped it through the string of lights I already had on there and it looks SO pretty! Definitely a happy accident. Though it was kind of a pain to get it to look even. (Ugh and I just realized it got messed up in the earthquake, so now I have to fix it again. 😫
I am so glad I took pictures before that happened. 😄🎉)

And for the shelves I taped more snowflake and icicles to the "ceiling" of each shelf so they'd hang down in front, and just set down leftover mini ornaments for my tree I couldn't fit on it everywhere as artfully as I could. 😂 Oh and I got that little silver glittery tree as a decoration.

Here you can see them better.

Another closeup from the other side.

And ta-da! Here is the view of my whole room! (Except for the closet cuz it's around the corner. 😂) But I hoped you liked it! And I hope it will inspire you to do something like this for your room and/or bookshelf for Christmas!

Thanks for reading! Don't you love Christmas?! My next BW post will be this Thursday, so don't miss it! And don't forget to check out Clo and Sam's posts! 😊

Merry Christmas!! 🎄
