The 20 Questions Book Tag!

Hey guys! I got tagged for The 20 Questions tag by Amy @ The Little Book Nerds in the Corner! I'm SO excited for this since the questions look really fun and it's the first tag that someone else actually tagged me for. πŸ˜„ So thank you Amy!
Anyway it's long tag, it has 20 questions, (hence the title 20 questions πŸ˜‚) so I better shut up and get into it. 😜 And yes I know I'm probably using too many emojiis. I'll stop now.

How many books is too many in a series?

Well I think 7 or 8 is a good number, since not many book series nowadays go over that, or anywhere near that really, but I guess it depends on how good the series is.
I definitely feel like duologies are too short though. In my opinion, I think you should just plan to condense it into a standalone or just make it into a trilogy. I just think things look better if they come in sets of three I guess? I don't know.

How do you feel about cliffhangers?

I don't know, I mean they make me really want to read the next book, but can be frustrating. I guess it also depends on how they are done? But overall I guess I like them.

Hardcover or paperback?

Hardcover! I read them with the dust jacket on and everything. They just are so much prettier! If a book as amazing cover art, it just deserves to be in hardcover. I'll usually only get a paperback if I don't like the cover as much and if I really really need to save money. Otherwise I'll get pretty much all of my books in hardcover, which probably isn't smart. πŸ˜‚Also paperbacks get worn down so much easier, and I prefer nice and new looking books.

Favorite book?

How could you? I can't choose! I guess I'll have to make a short (hopefully) list:

Steelheart by Brandon Sanderson. (Obviously.)
Uprising by Margaret Peterson Haddix (I have mentioned this book way too many times.)
The Hunger Games trilogy (Of course.)
Peter and the Starcatchers series by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. (My childhood in a nutshell.)
The Mother-Daughter Book Club by Heather Vogel Frederick (My fictional BFFs!)
The Testing Trilogy (I read this to get over my Hunger Games Hangover.)
All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr (My first experience with adult fiction that went surprisingly well.)
Daughter of the Pirate King by Tricia Levenseller (Sassy pirates=all the awesomeness!)
And of course a BUNCH of others!

Least favorite book?

Right now?
Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1)

And I'm not going to waste time trying to explain why right here or else we will be here forever.

Love triangles, yes or no?

I'm okay with any romance as long as it doesn't get in the way of the plot too much or is really annoying or problematic.

The most recent book you couldn't finish?

How to Be Brave

I only got to chapter 4 before I put it down, and I feel really bad about it because I don't think I read enough of it to judge it accurately, but just because I DNF'd it quickly doesn't mean it's a bad book!
There was just some similarities between what Georgia's mom died of and some health issues my own mom is going through right now and my anxiety was just like...NOPE! So I decided I just couldn't deal with it right now. Plus there was some stereotypical teenager stuff in it like getting high and I just never understood the appeal of that so I didn't enjoy reading it so I put it down. 😞

A book you're currently reading?

A Thousand Pieces of You (Firebird, #1)

And I'm LOVING it! There's some Russian history influence in it which I didn't expect very much of and it's SO awesome and fascinating since I'm obsessed with Anastasia on Broadway right now! πŸ˜„

Beauty and the Beast: Lost in a Book

Also I just started this one last night, and it's really cool so far.

Last book you recommended to someone?

It was probably Steelheart to Amy I think. She loves Brandon Sanderson already, so luckily she didn't seem to need much convincing. πŸ˜‚

Oldest book you've read by publication date?

I'm so happy Goodreads has a tool for this.

Apparently it's Jane Eyre, which probably wouldn't have been so hard to figure out, since I don't read many classics. πŸ˜‚

Sorry that the chart is sticking off the page, but this is the only way you're going to be able to read it.

Newest book you've read by publication date?

At Her Fingertips (The Chronicles of Alice and Ivy, #3)

This doesn't come out til April 22! I got to be a beta reader and help the author with her edits, so I read it back in February! I'll also be participating in her blog tour on the 24th this month, so look out for that! 😊I believe sign ups are still open, so you should go check it out!

Favorite author?

Ugh I don't know! I don't think I have one. I don't think I've read enough of any one author recently to be able to pick.

Buying books or borrowing books?

Buying...sadly. I just like having a personal library! Even if I can't afford it. 😩

A book you dislike that everyone seems to love?

Shatter Me (Shatter Me, #1)

Again...this one.

Bookmarks or dog ears?

Just kidding! It's fine if you dog ear, but I just feel sorry for the poor books!

And they're so fun to collect! There's so many cute ones on Etsy!
I should do a post about my collection sometime...hmm..

A book you can always re-read?

The Mother-Daughter Book Club (The Mother-Daughter Book Club, #1)

I wrote a whole post on this!

Can you read while listening to music?

Sometimes? I don't normally like to because I need to pick out the right music to fit the mood of the book or else I can get easily distracted, and I feel like that can waste precious reading time, so I haven't been doing it as much anymore.

One POV or multiple?

Depends on the book. I like multiple if it's done right like in Ice Like Fire, but not like in Allegiant. πŸ˜’ Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't.

Do you read a book in one sitting or over multiple days?

I very rarely read a whole book in one sitting. I like to savor them, plus I would have to carve out time in a whole day to challenge myself to actually read a whole book. I am not a fast reader, so that's definitely not something I do regularly.

Who do you tag?

Finally! We made it to the end! πŸ˜‚
Kellyn @ Reveries
Cait @ Paper Fury

And everyone else who wants to! πŸ’–

Well that was fun but looooong. Ugh and I still need to work on my Camp Nano project today and it's already almost six. 😲

Well, thank you Amy for tagging me! I should probably start working on writing now before I get any more distracted. πŸ˜‚

(And here you can clearly see I failed miserably and not using emojis.)

See you on Saturday with my March Wrap Up! Byeeee! ♡

  1. I’m hopefully going to be doing this tag soon! Only monsters dog-ear their books. I’m a bookmark user all the way. I also like buying books. I love my personal library.

Aj @ Read All The Things!

I know right?! How dare they! XD And there are so many pretty bookmarks out there! My wishlist on Etsy is literally like 50 pages long. :P It's not ALL of bookmarks though, but...mostly. XD
And buying books is the best feeling! :)

  2. Thank you so much for tagging me ... and for mentioning my book! :D

    1. Heather @ The Frozen Book BlogApril 4, 2018 at 3:49 PM

      You're welcome! :D

  3. Ahh I loved this and thanks so much for the tag!! I think duologies always vaguely leave me wanting more?! But ALSO I feel trilogies often lag in the middle.πŸ˜‚So I can't decide between them haha. And I do like longer series too, but if I have to wait each year for a new book I forget everything and it's pretty bad haahhah. I'm terrible.

Also YAS you love The Hunger Games! And this makes me want to bump Daughter Of The Pirate King higher up on my TBR. :O

  4. Heather @ The Frozen Book BlogApril 5, 2018 at 9:45 AM

You should! It was really good! I'm so proud of myself for actually reading a newer book before some bloggers/BookTubers! XD
