January Wrap Up + February Goals

Hellloooo fellow book nerds! WOW this last month and a half went by really fast! Sorry this wrap up is kinda late, but I had so many fun posts that I wanted to write first that I kinda forgot about this monthly wrap up until now. 😜 But oh well. Here it is!

Writing:

I didn't really plan to do anything with my writing in January, but I probably should start thinking about Camp Nano in April.

Life:
  • Keep practicing with driving. ✅ I did this a little bit! I'm so proud of myself I had my first lesson driving around my neighborhood on an actual street! It's just a big loop and there isn't much traffic so I was just practicing turning mostly and stopping at stop signs and using my blinker. It was easier than I thought, but there is no way I'm anywhere near ready to drive on a highway with actual traffic. 😂
  • Apply to that bookstore job. ✅ I FINALLY DID THIS GUYS! Unfortunately they aren't even currently hiring, so I won't have a job as soon as I hoped, but I might apply to some local libraries soon, Idk. 😕
  • Get new glasses. ✅ Well I finally have an eye appointment at the end of this month, so hopefully I can finally get them fixed then.
  • Try to cut back on sugar. ✅ Well...my friend and I decided to give up ice cream for Lent together, and so far I've been doing good with that...but only because I still have a bunch of Valentine candy I've been eating...so this is kind of both a win and a fail? 😂
  • Look into possibly taking choir, a creative writing, or photography class at my community college in the future? Ha...yeah, no. I didn't even try. There's no way I can think about any of this until I can get a job.
  • Try new things! ✅ Well, I think I have been. I try a new thing at Starbucks every time I go at least. That may or may not be a good thing. 😂
  • Use my planner and bullet journal more efficiently. Eh, kind of?
  • Make a reading stats page somewhere. ✅ I did this! My planner had some bullet journal pages so I decided to use them! I think they turned out pretty good. 😊
  • Be more artsy (paint my nails more often, get more into photography, and practice calligraphy, drawing, making bookmarks and other crafts.) ✅ I painted my nails once this past month, I haven't done anything with photography, I haven't really done anything with calligraphy, but I have worked on a couple of bookmarks, and I guess bullet journaling counts for drawing sort of...but that's pretty much it for January. 😕
  • Catch up on movies and TV shows that are on my watch list. ✅
  • Get back into teaching myself piano. Haha...yeah I haven't even tried. I thought about it a couple times, but I ended up working on something else instead.
Blogging:
  • Keep building it up! I'm still trying! I finally celebrated my blog's first birthday and hosted my first giveaway! 😊 You can enter it here if you want to win some free books or a $25 gift card to Erin Condren!
  • Manage The Second Star Society. Well, January went surprisingly well! I have thirteen members, and we all had fun reading our Peter Pan retellings! 😃 This month we are doing Sleeping Beauty, and I haven't gotten to far into my book yet, but I'm excited about talking about it with my book club. And I'm REALLY excited about next month's theme and the book I'm planning to read for it, which I will announce on the 20th! 😄
  • Network more. Kinda? I've tried to get involved in more things. I'm planning on doing a Q&A with another blogger soon, so be on the lookout for that! 😉
  • Work on being more consistent and original. Ugh, I'm really trying but I think I can do better.

Writing:

Considering this month is half over, I think I'll plan on making some more solid plans for March. 😂 I should at least start thinking about what I'm going to do for Camp Nano.

Life:
  • Work more on driving.
  • Job hunt. Ugggggh. I am NOT looking forward to this. I am officially an adult. 😫
  • Try to eat a little healthier.
  • Cook more...but I also want to bake more...which won't help the healthy thing. 😂
  • Keep trying new things!
  • Make more bookmarks and other art!
  • Keep using my planner.
  • Practice piano! I should do this at least once before March! Yeah I probably won't actually do this, but we can dream! 😂
Blogging:
  • Get better at planning posts ahead of time!
  • Make friends with other bloggers...somehow. 😱
  • Keep up with my book club.
  • Be more original!
  • Figure out how to make/upload a new header to my homepage.
  • Pick winners for my giveaway and send prizes! 😄

Thank you! That's what everybody has been saying, but I really don't feel like I'm being that productive. XD
