The Halloween Book Tag

Happy Halloween, book nerds! 😄

I really don't celebrate Halloween that much, but I found this tag and I thought it would be fun to try. I'm not sure who created it, but all credit goes to the owner! I found it on Sophie's Series channel on YouTube so you can check it out here. 😉

Btw, I'm sorry for my random mini hiatus this past week, I've been so busy prepping for NanoWriMo (Which starts at midnight tonight ahhhhh 😱) that I kinda forgot about blogging. 😳 And I should warn you, I'm going to still try to blog throughout November, but I will probably be only posting about once a week instead of two, (probably on Tuesdays since there is some Top Ten Tuesday posts I really want to participate in this month) so bear with me as I try to write 50,000 words and blog and read and get a job and...oh boy. 😰

Anyway, on to the tag! 👻

Carving pumpkins: What book would you carve up and set on fire?

This question is hilariously awesome and I would definitely destroy Nerve by Jeanne Ryan. I was just SO annoyed by this book. I couldn't relate to Vee at all, I didn't think any of her choices were justified, I thought the ending was sloppy and the dares were just really pointless and annoying and it's definitely one of the very few books where I actually liked the movie better. 😳

Trick or Treat: What Character is a trick and what character is a treat?

Trick: A character you either love to hate or hate to love.

This was a really hard question because I'm not so into villains like everyone else seems to be so I don't really notice or care about them very much? Or maybe I just haven't read many books with a really well-written villain yet?

Steelheart (Reckoners, #1)

But anyway, the best answer I can come up with for this question is really hard because I really don't want to spoil the major plot twist for the first book but I guess I'm going to anyway so if you haven't read this amazing series and you want to,
DON'T READ PAST THIS POINT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyone who's read it still with me?
Okay good.
Megan from the Reckoners series by Brandon Sanderson I hate to love because she's not exactly all...good? I mean she is but she isn't and UGH I still don't want to say too much but I loved the plot twist around her in Steelheart and I love the romance between her and David (which is saying something for me) and she's just so cool and awesome and kick butt and ugh I just love her!
Okay my unintelligible fangirl ranting is over.
Treat: A character that was well...a treat.

All the Light We Cannot See

For this one I'm going to go with Marie-Laure from All the Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr. She was definitely my favorite character and I loved reading the chapters in her POV and I love the descriptions of how she "sees" the world using her other senses because of her blindness and I love how smart and brave she is and how she's a bookworm and I just found myself really relating to her and I just really love her. 😊

A book that is always sweet:

The Mother-Daughter Book Club (The Mother-Daughter Book Club, #1)

The Mother-Daughter Book Club by Heather Vogel Frederick! I LOVE this series so much it's just so adorable and relatable and it's so sweet and heartfelt and UGH I just LOVE the characters and the way it was written and I really think everyone should give this series a chance! Plus the author has the same name as me so there's that. 😜

What is a character that you would like to talk to as a ghost? (Characters that died in a book)

The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)

Prim....yeah. 😞 I just wish I could bring her back to life for Katniss and reunite them and just have everything be okay again and just UGH it's so unfair. 😭

Dressing up in costume: What character would you like to be for Halloween?

A few years ago I was Katniss. I wore black jeans, a brown tee shirt, a black leather jacket I got from my mom, my boots (I think they were black I can't remember) my mockingjay necklace, and I braided my hair in the classic "Katniss" style. 😊
I'm not doing anything for Halloween this year, but one of these days I would like to be Elsa from Frozen, but I don't think I could pull it off. 😕

Witches and Wizards: Favorite moment in the Harry Potter Series?

Uh....I'm not into Harry Potter, so...😳

Blood and Gore: Name a book that was so creepy that you had to take a break from it.

The 5th Wave (The 5th Wave, #1)

Definitely The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey. I didn't even take a break from this one, I just completely DNF'd it. I guess all of the child soldier stuff was just too disturbing for me.

How are you spending your Halloween? Eating candy? Reading spooky books? Tearing your hair out trying to prep for Nano? All of the above? Me too.😉
Let me know how all of your writing projects go and I'll see you when I post again, whenever that may be. (I'm planning on doing my October wrap up this Saturday so we'll see how that goes) Fingers crossed we all come out of this crazy month alive! 😜
