Welcome to my book blog! Here I will write about my favorite things in life: reading and writing. I plan to post reviews of Middle Grade and YA fiction novels, write about fun bookish related things, my struggles as an aspiring writer, and I might write a review of some of my favorite TV shows or movies if I feel like I need to rant. :)
I very much appreciate you checking out my blog and I hope you decide to stay awhile and share my love of stories and creativity.
Hey guys! I hope you all are having a nice weekend! 😊 It's been pouring rain here, but I don't mind very much because yesterday I got to sit on the back porch in a hammock with some delicious spice tea and listen to the rain while reading, bundled up in my hoodie and colorful mismatched socks. 😄
I was planning to post on Saturday, put my blog needed a serious makeover, and so I needed to figure that out first so I didn't have time to post anything. 😞 I hope you like my new design, though! It's not too different, but I definitely like it a lot more, though I need to find a way to add maybe a little more color, I think.
I also changed the title of my blog, but only slightly. Don't worry, the URL is still the same, but I thought it was a good idea to change it to The Frozen Book Blog so the wording makes a little more sense but it's also not too drastic of a change. 😊
Hey guys! I’m sorry this post is late,
I went kayaking the other day and then when I got back I had to help sew costumes
for a play that my friend is going to be in this weekend! 😊 It was a lot
of fun, but I didn’t get around to blogging and I barely had any time to read
either, and yesterday I didn’t get around to blogging until late, and I decided
to finish today since I wasn’t feeling good. 😓 Anyway, on to my reading
Hey Book Bloggians! Today I am doing something I have wanted to try for a while now...book spine poetry! I saw it around the internet and I thought it would be fun to try on my blog! If you don't know what book spine poetry is, it's pretty self-explanatory. 😊 You take all of your books that you have and arrange them so that you can find phrases in the titles and create poems out of them! I thought it was really creative, so I thought I'd give it a try, though I don't have a very wide selection of books with me right now, so my "poems" probably won't be the best. 😂 Plus, another reason I wanted to do this post today was because this weekend I am participating in the "24 in 48" readathon where you try to read for a total of 24 hours within 48 hours. Also, I completely forgot BookTube-A-Thon starts next week on Monday, and I wanted to try to do the reading challenges during that. And BookTube-A-Thon starts right at the time 24 in 48 ends, so I'm literally going to be doing two readathons back-to-back and I'm going to be reading for 9 days straight! 😰Hey, I need all the help I can get to get caught up on my TBR before the end of the summer! 😆 So, as you can imagine, since I'll be pretty busy reading, I won't have a lot of time for blogging, so that's why my next three posts will be pretty short and sweet. 😊
Hey guys! Sorry I’m getting this post
out a little late tonight, I just hadn’t gotten around to it until now.
Today I decided to do an old prompt
from The Broke and the Bookish’ Top Ten Tuesday since they are on hiatus until
August. But first, I wanted to give you a little update on my Camp Nano
progress and how the 24 hour reathathon went!
Hey Book Bloggians! I’m sorry for that
random mini hiatus I was on for the past week, but I had issues with my email
so I couldn’t log onto Blogger. 😢 But it’s all fixed now! (Yay!) 😄And I
decided to post a day early to make up for the days I missed and also starting
at midnight tonight, I decided to participate in the BookTuber, Zoe @ ReadbyZoe’s,
24 hour readathon that she is hosting on twitter tomorrow, so I'll be busy reading! 😃 I thought this
was a good idea for me to do, because I desperately
need to focus on catching up on my Goodreads goal, since I am so behind. My
goal by the end tomorrow is to finish at least three books, and hopefully be on
track by the end of July. 😓 If you haven’t noticed in my left sidebar, I
changed my Goodreads goal from 40 books to 35, so now I’m only 11 books behind
instead of like…14. Ha. 😳
I went to a very interesting parade in my town today. It was a lot longer than usual and kind of awkward because some of the people who were in the parade created a huge gap because they were taking way too long handing out flyers.😳 Oh well.
Hey Book Bloggians! I'm so excited to be a part of the amazing Kellyn Roth's blog tour, celebrating the rerelease and the release of her books, The Dressmaker's Secret and Ivy Introspective! Today she will be talking about Balancing Writing With a Busy Life, which I don't know about you, but this is advice that I definitely need. 😜 But first, a little bit about the author and her books! 😊
So back in February I did a post on my
most anticipated movies that were coming out this year. In this post, I decided
to talk about what is on my Movies I Need to See List. It’s different because
these are all movies that are out already that I missed in theaters. Some came
out this year, but some are at least a year old or more, and I just haven’t gotten
around to seeing them yet.😀
Hey book bloggians! Today I decided to
talk about some of my favorite books that I read while I was in High School. 😊
These books are just books I read for fun while I happened to be in high
school, none of them were required reads for homework…except kind of the first four, but I’ll explain
that in a second.
Now, it has only been a year since I
graduated, but I really wanted to talk about some books I really enjoyed during
that time and couldn’t talk about before because I hadn’t had this blog yet! So
without further ado…
Today I am doing The Broke and The
Bookish’s Top Ten Tuesday Prompt: Top Ten Books from X Genre That I’ve Recently
Added to My TBR List.
So basically I can choose whatever
genre I want and talk about the books in that genre that I recently have become
interested in. I thought this would be a great post to do because I am adding
stuff to Goodreads all the time,
(seriously, I have a problem, there’s now 1,270 books on my to read shelf) 😁 Plus, I have said before that I really
want to read more fantasy, so sharing ten of the fantasy books I want to
read sounded like a no-brainer.😀
Today I decided to share my writing
works in progress. 😊 All of them are in various stages of progress, but
none of them are anywhere close to being ready to publish. I’m planning
to publish everything I write (or everything
I finish at least) in the future whenever I get them ready, though. I love
writing but I don’t think I could write with the intention of just keeping it
to myself. Then my stories wouldn’t really feel real, you know what I mean? Plus, stories are meant to be shared! I
love daydreaming that one day BookTubers and other bloggers and well, anybody really, will one day be gushing
and fangirling over my books.😄
Today I decided to make a
list of books with titles that really stand out to me. I know there are a lot
of people who are more swayed by the cover design of a book to make them pick
it up in a bookstore, but for me, sometimes a really creative title will do it.
😊(I mean, not all the books in stores
are laid out with the cover on display, most of them are stored normally on the
shelf with the spines facing out.) So, here are ten kinds of great titles in my
opinion that will definitely get me interested.
Today I am doing the Summer Reads
Freebie for my first Top Ten Tuesday prompt by The Broke and the Bookish!
Okay, okay, I said I wasn’t going to do
any more tags for a while, but technically this isn’t a tag, so don’t look at
me like that.😳
I guess technically I’m cheating on
this prompt because I think I’m supposed to recommend summery books or do
something along those lines, but I just decided to talk about ten of the books
I’m going to tryto get to this
Hello book bloggians! I guess that’s
what I’m calling my readers now…it doesn’t really make any sense but it’s as
good a name as any I guess...so…just go with it.😳
I know, another tag. But hopefully this will be the last one for a while. I
just thought that this was a good time to do this specific tag since I’ve only
had this blog for like four months and I haven’t done it yet so why not now?
Now that May is in full swing, I wanted
to finally participate in Beautiful People! If you don’t know what Beautiful
People is, it is a blog meme for writers to answer questions about their
characters on their blogs hosted by Cait @ Paper Fury and Sky @ Further Up and
Hey guys! I’ve seen a couple writing
tags going around lately, so I thought it would be fun to participate in them
and show more of the writer side of me than the reader/movie watcher side. 😉 I’ve decided to do two, since they are both pretty short and only a
couple of their questions are kind of similar.
I haven’t been tagged by anyone to do
these, and I’m not sure where they originated, but The Writer’s Ink Challenge I
got from Kellyn at Reveries, and The Writer’s Tag I got from Mary Katherine at
Sarcastic Scribblings. They both said anyone who is reading their blogs can
answer the questions if they want, so here I am. 😀 I will have a
link to their blogs after each set of questions if you want to check them out.
